Our architecture school organised an event ÔÇ£Remembering Joseph Allen SteinÔÇØ at India Habitat Centre on 27th October (Thursday). It was a full house with some of the senior-most architect of the city, Australian high commissioner, many heads of institutions attending the event.

Joseph Allen Stein is the famous architect who has made some mould-breaking contributions to Delhi’s architectural landscape. Some of his buildings in Delhi includes the Ford Foundation headquarters, India International Centre (IIC), India Habitat Centre, United Nations Children’s Fund, World Wide Fund, Lodhi Gardens, Triveni Kala Sangam, American Embassy School and the Australian high commission.

The panelists will be Architects Ashok Lall, Snehanshu Mukherjee, Anuraag Chaufla, all of whom were Mr. Stein’s apprentice and are now leading large architect firms. Dr. Prem Jain who was Mr. Stein’s MEP engineer for almost a decade, and H.E. Ms. Harinder Sidhu, Australian high commissioner to India, who resides in a building made by Mr. Stein. Ar. Shaleen Sharma, the Director of the film and Dean of WSPA will be moderating.

Admissions to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IIITDM Jabalpur are done through the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED). Students who have passed Class XII (or equivalent) in 2016, or appearing in 2017, in ANY STREAM (Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities) are eligible to appear for UCEED 2017.
